Moment Mushrooms
Starting Your Journey
What Is Microdosing?
Are you new to Magic Mushrooms?
If you are new to psilocybin mushrooms, generally speaking, people use mushrooms for either microdosing or full journey dosing. We recommend you start with microdosing.
Microdosing is the practice of taking a very small dose of a psychedelic medicine like psilocybin mushrooms. This dose is so small that is considered sub-perceptual, as in, at this low dose, you should not perceive or notice any of the traditional psychedelic effects, yet experience both physical and mental health benefits.
For first time microdosers, we recommend starting with a low dose, between 30-125mg of psilocybin mushrooms. Its also recommend to follow a microdosing schedule or “protocol” such as The Stamets Protocol. This protocol involves 4 active dosing days followed by 3 integration days (no dosing). Continue for four weeks of dosing, then take a reset period of 2 weeks by not dosing.
For more detailed information on microdosing please visit our Learn page. If you have any questions regarding doses or protocols, please feel free to contact our team we are happy to support you.

Find your starting point
Five questions, about a minute. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere. If your answers tell us this is a conversation for your doctor or a pharmacist rather than a purchase, we will say so.
Have you microdosed before?
What sort of dose were you taking?
Ours are measured by weight of dried mushroom rather than milligrams of psilocybin, so if you were using someone else's product the number may not line up exactly. A rough answer is fine.
How did that work out?
Worth remembering that microdosing is subperceptual by design. Feeling nothing on the day is usually the medicine working as intended, and the shifts tend to show up in hindsight.
What are you hoping it might help with?
Pick whichever is closest. Nothing here is a promise, and plenty of people arrive without a clear answer.
How do you usually react to caffeine and supplements?
This tells us more than your body weight does. Sensitivity and metabolism vary far more than people expect.
Does any of this apply to you?
We ask because some of these change the answer completely. Nothing you choose is stored or sent anywhere.
Worth sorting this out first
SSRIs and SNRIs occupy and desensitise the very serotonin receptors psilocybin works on, so most people find mushrooms do very little while they are taking them. It is the medication getting in the way of the mushrooms rather than the other way around, and receptors keep recalibrating for a while after stopping.
Before you spend anything, we would rather you spoke with Trina at The Dharmacist, a pharmacist who specialises in psychedelic drug interactions. Her services are by donation, and if that is a barrier please tell us and we will cover it.
Talk to Trina at The Dharmacist
If you would like the longer explanation, watch this short video on how SSRIs interact with psilocybin. Below is where we would start you whenever the timing is right, and you are always welcome to email us to talk it through.
One conversation worth having
Since you are taking prescription medication, it is worth checking the interaction before you start. Trina at The Dharmacist is a pharmacist who specialises in exactly this. Her services are by donation and we are happy to cover it if cost is in the way.
This one belongs with your doctor
A personal or family history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or psychosis is a meaningful risk factor, and heart conditions, blood pressure, pregnancy and breastfeeding all sit outside what we can responsibly advise on. We would genuinely rather lose the sale than get this wrong, so we are not going to recommend a product here.
If you would like to talk it through, or you want something to take to your doctor, email us and we will help however we can.
Where we would start you
Nourish 30mg
The gentlest place to start. 30mg of Golden Teacher alongside turmeric, reishi, ashwagandha, ginkgo and ginger, closer to a daily wellness supplement than anything dramatic. At this dose even the cumulative effects are quiet, so give it a few weeks before you draw any conclusions.
Where we would start you
Flow 75mg
Where most people start, and where a lot of people stay. 75mg of Golden Teacher with lion's mane, cordyceps, ginkgo and ashwagandha working alongside it. People most often describe feeling lighter, more present and less reactive rather than anything obvious happening.
Where we would start you
Spark 125mg
Energising and creativity forward, built with guarana, maca, cordyceps and siberian ginseng. The guarana is natural caffeine, so it is worth skipping your morning coffee on Spark days rather than stacking the two.
Where we would start you
Neuro 165mg
Built around lion's mane, aimed at cognitive function and neuroplasticity over the long run. Worth knowing that Neuro is more activating than Flow rather than gentler, and it is a frequent favourite for people who tried Flow and wanted more.
Where we would start you
Balance 300mg
A meaningful step up, for people who have already spent time at lower doses. Some people notice mild perceptual effects at 300mg, particularly somewhere quiet. Never a first dose.
However you begin. Four days on, three days off, and after four weeks take two weeks off to rest and integrate. The off days are part of the protocol rather than a pause in it. Take your capsule in the morning.
Give it two to four weeks before deciding whether it is working. Microdosing is subperceptual by design, so feeling nothing is usually the medicine doing exactly what it does. The shifts tend to show up in hindsight: less reactivity, more presence, sleep evening out.
If you would rather try a few before committing, the sampler packs exist for that. There is more reading on the Learn page, and our Support page covers the practical questions we get asked most.
This is a starting point rather than a prescription. If it does not sound like you, or you have a question this did not cover, we would genuinely like to hear from you.
Introducing our Microdosing Sampler Packs
Not sure where to start?
For many people who are new to microdosing there are a lot of questions. Knowing where to start, what product is right for them, or what dose to start with, etc.
We suggest starting with our Low Dose Pack which includes 4 capsules of our Nourish (30mg), Flow (75mg) and Spark (165mg) microdoses for 12 capsules in total.
If you’re interested in starting with a higher dose, our High Dose Pack contains 4 capsules of our Neuro (165mg), Balance (300mg) and Pure (400mg) microdoses for 12 capsules in total.
4 capsules of each microdose allow you to experience 1 week of a microdosing schedule, known as the Stamets Protocol (4 days on, 3 days off) to determine which dose is right for you.
