Years ago, I found myself in a challenging place despite having a life full of opportunities.
My values and work were well aligned—I was thriving in my career, raising a baby with my amazing wife, starting a new business, and enjoying time with friends and family. But then I hit a wall: my sleep unraveled, anxiety crept in, and for the first time, I felt disconnected from my own sense of well-being.
I turned to all the tools I had—exercise, mindfulness, healthy eating, self-help books—but nothing seemed to help. Therapy wasn’t yet on my radar, and the medical system, while supportive, had its limits. That’s when I stumbled across psychedelics. What started as curiosity—a book by Michael Pollan, podcasts by Sam Harris, and conversations with friends experimenting with mushrooms—soon became a deeper journey.
After months of research, reflection, and some final preparations, I had my first high-dose experience with psilocybin mushrooms. It was profound. In one evening, I confronted my deepest anxieties, found clarity, had some fun, and realized I’d been taking life far too seriously. Of course, this experience didn’t solve everything overnight, but it gave me what felt like objective insight I needed to seek therapy, explore self-compassion, and start a journey of deep personal growth. Over the years, I’ve come to see psychedelics as a powerful tool—not a magic fix, but a catalyst for healing, learning and personal growth. This is part of the reason we are in partnership with Moment Mushrooms, as they share our values.
